Mission Holiday - UK Gambia Mission
Our experience in Gambia was welcoming and positive with the traditional African environmental feel, we felt at home. We shared our experience with our family and friends and through this, a group was formed for our return visit. We discovered that the group not only wanted the holiday to experience the African culture, but also wanted the opportunity to participate in charitable activities. This initiated the concept of a mission holiday.
The mission holiday also fulfils a need for those who want to reconnect with their African heritage culture and the opportunity to participate in charitable efforts.

Leisure Time

The Gambia’s unique sense of magic with its beautiful beaches and welcoming people makes it easy to believe why it is affectionately known as “the smiling coast of Africa”.

The leisure element of our mission holiday has a variety of activities to accommodate everyone! Whether it’s entertainment in the day such as beach walks, horse riding and jet skiing, or nightlife such as eating out, bars and clubs. Many hotels offer traditional African music and dance. You can choose from a wide range of restaurants with local and international dishes. Enjoy a relaxing time on the beach or hotel pool, or simply indulge in a spa treatment. 

The Gambia has an amazing array of wildlife, with over 600 species of birds; it’s a birdwatcher’s paradise attracting professional bird watchers from all over the world!

There are also many tour operators offering a variety of excursions within Gambia or Senegal enabling you to enjoy every aspect of your holiday with lasting memories to cherish.
